WELCOME TO ROYAL DROTTNINGHOLM GOLF CLUB
Situated next to UNESCO-awarded Drottningholm Palace and a short trip from Stockholm, Royal Drottningholm Golf Club is among the jewels in the crown of the Nordic golf scene. When it opened in 1959, King Gustav VI Adolf hit the inaugural shot and it is the only golf club with a Royal Warrant in Sweden. It retains its close Royal ties to this day. A private club with 1,400 members, the club features a scenic 18-hole course, restaurant, gym and conference facilities.
AMBITION TO EVOLVE
With a brand slogan that pledges to ‘inspire better golf’, Club Director Stefan Andorff is driven by a constant desire to improve sporting and commercial aspects of Royal Drottningholm Golf Club. To this end, Andorff searched for options that were efficient and enjoyable in a bid to attract more guests and revenue. After consulting with club coaches, Andorff turned to the innovative Trackman Range solution.
“The process was quick from the moment we made the call to install Trackman Range. The decision was made in January, and we had the Grand Opening in the first week of April.”
A seamless transition
The project quickly gathered momentum and the entire process only lasted a few weeks before Royal Drottningholm Golf Club’s improved range opened for business in early 2023.
41 bays (16 equipped with screens, 25 with plug-in option, 6 are covered)
1 short track course (reversible loop), 1 par-3 course
2 pitching areas with 2 greens and a bunker
1 chipping green, 1 putting green
Glowing membership reviews
In the wake of the Trackman Range installation, Andorff said he has reaped glowing reviews from members and guests. And with Royal Drottningholm Golf Club’s vision being to ‘Offer Sweden’s best golf membership experience’, that feedback is music to the Club Director’s ears.
“Our members practice more and spend more time on the range, which is very positive. We also get a good basis for who is hitting and how much.”
FINANCIALLY, A ROYAL FLUSH
The significant 20 percent increase in balls hit since Trackman Range was introduced has led to a 30 percent uptick in earnings. And that success seems to have trickled over into other segments of club business. Andorff explained that more is being spent in the Club Shop and restaurant, compared to before. Additionally, players are using Trackman Range data to improve their game.

Dialing in on the Portal
Another benefit of the transition is Royal Drottningholm Golf Club gaining access to facility management tools in the Trackman portal. Andorff is a firm believer in simplified data, and the portal provides an excellent platform to manage all aspects of range operations. The portal’s KPI dashboard offers club leadership a clear overview of performance indicators and enables data-driven decision-making.
No Queen’s Gambit
There is little doubt in Andorff’s mind that the addition of Trackman Range has contributed considerably to Royal Drottningholm Golf Club. On a scale of 1 to 10, on how likely he would be to recommend Trackman as a solution provider, he scored it a 9. Trackman’s solution lived up to the billing in terms of reaching ambitions, contends Andorff.
“Service and sales were good throughout the process and support during the installation period was great.”
