AN URBAN GOLF
SUCCESS STORY
Growing from Manhattan across the US and beyond, Five Iron Golf’s rapid expansion showcases how indoor golf has become big business when approached with the right blend of technology and concept.
MEETING DEMAND
In 2017, options were limited when it came to practicing in New York City. The few locations that did exist only had one or two bays. Jared Solomon teamed up with golf coach Mike Doyle and together they forged the idea of Five Iron in a bid to change the golfing landscape of the city. When it opened its first location, Five Iron’s four bays was considered revolutionary.
Turning the tide
Five Iron started off with a different simulator company but switched to Trackman at the requests and demands of its coaches and their students. Solomon and his partners set ambitious goals for their business, with an understanding that Trackman could help propel them to reach the next level.
“We offer a lot of different services, but really we are in the business of building long-term committed relationships with students.”

COMMENDED BY COACHES AND FITTERS
Five Iron maintains a comprehensive coaching platform. Managing 60-70 coaches across the US, Five Iron’s instruction can support any level of golfer. The gold standard in accuracy and data, Trackman is the preferred tool for coaches, fitters and students at Five Iron.
Taking huge strides
In just a few years, Five Iron grew from a single four-bay location in Manhattan to over 250 bays in 20+ locations across the US – its franchise has even reached Australia, Singapore and India. Led by Nora Dunnan, co-founder and Development Officer, Five Iron has set its sights on further expansion in the US and abroad.
“The international franchise is really exciting. I think there’s a lot of potential to go to so many different countries around the world”

LOCATION DRIVES GROWTH
When scouting and setting up new locations, design is essential to Five Iron. Aside from practical size requirements, Dunnan ensures that each location embraces a merger of local community flair and the Five Iron brand. From bar design and glowing boxes for Trackman units, to vibrant wall murals by local artists, all locations are geared to providing customers with the best in terms of space and vibe.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT
“Looking back five years ago, there was barely an indoor golf entertainment market in the US. Now it's pervasive. There's so much excitement there. We're just at the tip of the iceberg.”
