Two radars, one camera, zero doubt
TrackMan accurately measures club delivery, ball launch and full ball flight without the use of markers.
The TrackMan 4 uses the patented OERT system – Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking – to measure club and ball data. OERT synchronizes an inbuilt full HD video camera with the dual radar system to give you the most accurate analysis possible.
The Science Behind the Success
Accurate data for both club and ball on any shot requires that you place your data measuring unit behind the player. If it is in any other position, you will only be able to measure launch data. Full ball flight data will then have to be calculated.
TrackMan 4 with OERT captures the exact impact location on the clubface without the use of markers. The unit can be positioned safely behind the player because it “sees” through the club.
The radars operate at 40,000 samples per second to give a precise picture of the time of impact. The camera works together with the radar system to deliver 4D silhouette clubhead tracking with a pickup rate for club data of over 90% across all shot types.
By synchronizing a full HD camera with radar, we capture the exact position of the ball before impact. The clubhead position is measured with the combination of radar and the camera‘s exact knowledge of the club position in every frame – and in-between frames. No other company can do this with anywhere near the same degree of precision as TrackMan.
